Green Business Grants
Friday, January 1st, 2010
More than $8 million in stimulus money is available statewide for North Carolina entrepreneurs with proposals that will promote green technologies and create jobs.
The N.C. Green Business Fund is seeking proposals to help small businesses develop and commercialize alternative-energy technologies, products and services. Grants are worth up to $500,000 each.
Businesses with 100 or fewer employees are eligible if they are planning projects related to biofuels, green building, or environmentally clean technology and renewable energy.
Proposals must either save energy; install or generate renewable energy; reduce greenhouse gas emissions; produce alternative fuels; or promote energy efficiency in buildings.
The pre-proposal deadline is January 19, 2010.
