Charity Cars, Inc., is a 501-C-3 non-profit charity. They provide FREE vehicles as well as financial assistance for tag/title/registration fees, automobile repairs, preventative maintenance items like oil changes, hoses, belts, batteries, brakes, tires, automotive warranty coverage, roadside assistance memberships, and the down-payment for auto insurance or even the down-payment for a new or used vehicle!

Check this out! Free Gas USA, Inc. is accepting applications for their gasoline grant program. Grants range from $50 to $1,200 and applications are accepted throughout the year, and only one application is required for the year. Applications must be submitted along with a letter from a church or other social service agency verifying your need.

I’ve noticed a lot of folks land here at Momma Knows Money looking for APU grants. I found the “Truckers Guide to APU Financing” which was put together by Cummins. It has an easy to read state-by-state listing of loan and grant programs for APUs. So I hope this helps! I can’t vouch that all the sources listed still have funding, but it looks like an excellent starting point.

Here’s a program funded by the recent stimulus package. Tennessee motor carriers can apply for Idle Smart grant rebates to help pay for clean diesel technology for their long-haul trucks. The Idle Smart grant rebates will cover up to 50 percent of the costs of idle reduction technologies, such as auxiliary power units (maximum of $4,000 per truck).
