Elance is running a contest called “The New Way To Work”. You can win a year of health insurance, or if you’d rather have the cash, they’ll give you $10,000 instead.

HOW TO ENTER:

1. Answer this question: What Does “The New Way To Work” Mean To You? If you’re a writer, write a story that tells them how you are a part of this new world of work. If you’re a graphic designer, design something. Videographer? Video something. Developer? Create an app. You get the picture. As an entrant, you are free to enter your Submission in any format you choose so long as it can be published to the Web.

2. Publish your submission (complete with email address) to where you see fit – this may be your personal blog, a YouTube page, a Flickr account, Facebook profile – anywhere you think your message will inspire and excite the community.

3. Once your submission has been posted via the method of your choice, announce it to the world! Use Twitter, Facebook, Digg, MySpace, or any other channel to share your creative work and message to the world.

The deadline is December 7th, but start now, because getting your message “out there” can take a little time!

The Sinclair Institute announced its 6th annual Erotic Fiction Contest today taking place on its web site BetterSex.com. This year’s contest adds over $4,000 in cash and prizes to the $15,000 the company awarded in similar contests moving the company’s total to close to $20,000 in prize money to amateur erotic writers in 6 contests over five years.

If you love sports and think you would be a great sportswriter, then BetUS.com has the contest for you. They want you to send them your best football piece and you can win a guest spot on BetUS.com Radio, get published online, and even win a $5,000 sports writing contract!

Here’s their breakdown of the contest:

Each month of the regular NFL season, three weekly winners will receive a $100 Free Play in their BetUS account and get published in our Locker Room. At the end of each month, a monthly winner will receive a $250 Free Play in their BetUS account, get published in the Locker Room and receive an invitation to FACE-OFF against our handicapping experts on BetUS.com Radio!
