Scam Accounting Job

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Watch out for this one!  I just got an email and it almost looks legitimate since they are supposedly looking for a receivables clerk or bookkeeper.  You don’t generally think of those types of jobs as lending themselves to scams.  Unfortunately, con artists figure out a way around everything.

Hey I Won the Lottery!

Friday, July 24th, 2009

I must get a scam e-mail at least once per day.  This one is awesome because apparently I managed to win a lottery that I didn’t even enter.  It’s like MAGIC!!!!  All my dreams are coming true!  My favorites, as with most of these parasitic e-mails are the misspellings and general butchering of the English [...]

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

I’ve actually done a mystery shopping job – ONE.  You know why?  It took so much time to do the assignment and write the lengthy report, that it worked out to about $2/hour.  Not my idea of an effective opportunity.  But it was legitimate.  I did the work, got reimbursed for my shopping and paid [...]
