Grants for Struggling Homeowners
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009We’ve been looking for a long time and finally found a group that offers emergency financial assistance and grants for struggling homeowners! The Rainy Day Foundation’s goal is to create and maintain responsible homeownership. Through the administration of the Rainy Day Program, the Foundation has provided emergency support to homeowners that experienced financial challenges.
Obviously we can’t guarantee that they’ll help everyone, but there is a handy little contact form on their website where you can submit your information.

There isn’t one grant application that you can fill out to automatically apply to anything that might be of benefit to you. I know that all the programs that sell this “grant information” tell you to fill in their easy form for automatic application to all the grant programs.
I’m sorry, it doesn’t work like that. Every city, nonprofit, and/or county program has their own grant application and eligibility requirements. I’m telling you this from years of experience researching grants for individuals.
An often overlooked resource is your local Community Action Agency.
