Preservation Grants

The Loess Hills Alliance Protection Committee has grant applications available to any person, agency, group or community who’s project supports the goals to protect and or preserve the natural and cultural resources of western Iowa’s Loess Hills region. Projects may include land acquisition, conservation easements, educational components of land protection, and any other proposals that meet the Mission of the Protection Committee and strive to protect and preserve the Loess Hills.

Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis, for projects that benefit one of, or all of the seven Loess Hills counties in western Iowa.

The Loess Hills Alliance Protection Committee is part of the Loess Hills Alliance organization that was formed b the Iowa Legislature in 2000 to foster protection, stewardship and economic development in the seven county Loess Hills region.

The application deadline is January 8, 2010.
