Free Smoke Detectors

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

Free smoke detectors are generally offered as special programs through local fire departments.  I’ll post the news announcements for these as I find them.

The latest one I have found is in Ellis County, Kansas.  The Hays Fire Department received a grant to provide smoke detectors to county residents.

To request a free smoke detector, or to have one installed, contact the Hays Fire Department at (785) 628-7330.  Alarms will not be available until February 2010 and a waiting list has already started, so you need to call soon to have your name added.
