Grant Money Available to Replace Old Wood Stoves
Sunday, May 17th, 2009Grant money to replace old wood stoves with cleaner burning units is available to residents of Ravalli County. Montana.Eligible county residents can get up to $2,570 toward the purchase and installation cost of EPA-approved wood stoves.
When families apply for stove changeout funds, an energy audit is conducted and the old wood stove is recycled. Ravalli County was selected because some areas in the county continually exceed national ambient air quality standards. The county also was picked because it has many low-income residents who use wood stoves as their heat source.
More information is available from Jim Wilson at 728-3710 or from the Ravalli County Environmental Health Department at 375-6565.
