Grants to Purchase Foreclosures in Iowa

The City of Davenport, Iowa has funding available to assist buyers with the purchase and rehab of a foreclosed property.  Homebuyers can receive up to $24,999 for down payments, closing costs, rehabilitation, and mortgage buy-down.  Qualifying properties must be within the program area (more info on the city website)

There are other qualifications and income limits, such as a requirement to complete an eight hour housing counseling program.

The City has until June 2010 to spend their remaining program funds, so you need to get moving if you want to utilize this grant program.
