Home Repair Grant
Tuesday, October 20th, 2009The Northwest Ohio Development Agency makes grants for emergency home repair.
Emergency Home Repair Grants normally use the following guidelines:
- Grants will be provided on a first-come first-served basis, based on completed file.
- Applicants for Emergency Home Repair Grants cannot make more than 150% above the federal poverty guidelines and in some cases not more than 35% of Area Median Income (AMI).
- Consumers must receive at least three bids on any work to be completed, unless otherwise approved by NODA’s Chief Operating Officer.
- Work must be done by a licensed and insured contractor in the State of Ohio.
- Maximum Emergency Home Repair Grants are granted once in a person’s lifetime and are limited to $5,000.00 per grant.
- Repair grants are given on one to four unit properties that are owner-occupied only.
- All grants must be approved by the Loan/Grant Review Committee.
- In order to qualify for an emergency repair grant, all needed repairs must comply with the emergency repair guideline sheets included in the attachments.
- Grants require no pay back and have no deed restrictions attached to them.
