Every year Burning Man issues a small number of grants for the purpose of partially funding specific art projects. They look for work that stands on its own as physical, sculptural installation, independent of performances or activities, although these may accompany the installation.
South Dakota artists, arts organizations and other nonprofit groups can seek grant support from the South Dakota Arts Council to assist in funding arts projects throughout the state. Applicants have until March 1 to apply for projects and activities that will occur July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2011. (more…)
Forecast Public Art, a nonprofit public arts organization based out of the Twin Cities, recently announced a partnership with the East Central Arts Council to offer Public Art Planning grants in the amount of $2,000 to the artists of Chicago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine counties.
The New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) awards grants of up to $25,000 for the production of film, video, media or new technology project. The Individual Artists Program offers support for the creation of new work by New York State artists through artist-initiated projects in electronic media (video, sound art, installations, and new technologies) and film production, and the commissioning of new work by composers and theatre artists. Artists at various career stages are welcome to apply to this Program.
