New Funding Available for Multifamily Weatherization Program

Grant applications are now being accepted for the 2010-11 multifamily weatherization program offered through the Colorado Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) and Energy Outreach Colorado.

Grants to Strengthen Homes Against Storms

Thousands of Louisiana homeowners affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita can apply for grant funds of up to $7,500 to take additional measures to protect their homes from loss in future storms, including installing roof-tie downs and storm shutters.

Multifamily Home Weatherization Grants

Energy Outreach Colorado has Multifamily Home Weatherization Grants available.   Receipients can be nonprofit, government, or for-profit entities.  I believe individual multifamily property owners may also be eligible to apply.  Sign up on their website to be notified of the opportunities.

Fix Up Paint Up Grant for Home Repair

The City of Lakewood, California provides Fix Up Paint Up Grants up to $3,000.  The grants are for seniors, disabled, and low/moderate income families who own and occupy their home and need assistance to make minor exterior repairs.   Eligible improvements include exterior trim paint, window and screen repairs, gate and fence repairs, garage door repairs, deadbolts and weatherization.

Old Town grants remain available. People must apply for them, and the city’s Historic Preservation Board decides whether to award grants.
