As someone who has a septic system, I’m always interested in upgrades and improvements. Having that thing lurking underground behind my house just makes me nervous. Anyway,the Maryland Department of the Environment is offering septic system upgrades to nitrogen removing Best Available Technology (BAT). They are taking names for a temporary waiting list. There are also 13 counties in Maryland which offer their own septic upgrade program.

Community Development Administration (CDA) offers three standard downpayment and closing cost assistance products for any borrower who is eligible for a Maryland Mortgage Program loan. Borrowers can choose to receive a closing cost assistance grant from either the MMP+ 2% or MMP+ 3% programs. Also, borrowers may choose to receive a zero-percent deferred loan through the Downpayment and Settlement Expense Loan Program (DSELP). Income limits and purchase price limits vary depending on location.
