The Illinois Military Family Relief Fund (IMFRF), provides monetary grants to families of Illinois National Guard members and Illinois residents serving in the U.S. Armed Forces Reserve components who were called to active duty as a result of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Homes For Our Troops raises donations of money, building supplies and labor to build homes. When a home is completed, it is given to a veteran who has been severely injured or disabled while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. All services are provided at no cost to the veteran.

The Post-9/11 GI Bill is for individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill. The Post-9/11 GI Bill will become effective for training on or after August 1, 2009.
