ComEd offers assistance programs to it’s customers. One of these is the “Residential Special Hardship Program”. This program provides a one-time grant of up to $1,000 for residential customers with household incomes at or below 400 percent of the poverty level ($84,800 for a family of four) that identify a hardship.

EyeCare America® has a Senior Eye Care program. This program ensures that every senior has access to medical eye care and promotes annual, dilated eye exams. It raises awareness about age-related eye disease, including cataracts, provides free eye care educational materials and facilitates access to eye care—at no out-of-pocket cost.

In partnership with local non-profits, Alaska Housing Finance Corporation provides funds to allow senior citizens, (those over 55 years of age) to make accessibility modifications to their homes, thereby extending their ability to live independently in the community. (more…)
