Free Dental Care in South Dakota

The University of South Dakota’s Department of Dental Hygiene is offering free fluoride varnishes and sealants to anyone 18 years and younger by appointment.  A grant from the South Dakota Department of Health is making the dental screenings available.  Sealants are a very effective way to protect teeth from cavities.

Grants for Artists in South Dakota

South Dakota artists, arts organizations and other nonprofit groups can seek grant support from the South Dakota Arts Council to assist in funding arts projects throughout the state. Applicants have until March 1 to apply for projects and activities that will occur July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2011.

Child Car Seat Program

Project 8 distributes infant, toddler and booster seats to income eligible families across South Dakota as well as those who have children with special needs. Those interested in receiving a seat must show proof of financial need, such as Medicaid, WIC, or CHIP, child care assistance or Head Start enrollment to receive each seat.

The South Dakota State Historical Society is an office within the Department of Tourism and State Development.  The Society is accepting applications for the Deadwood Fund.
