Scott Valley Salvation Army help available to those in need

Funds are once again available through the Scott Valley Salvation Army unit for emergency help with home heating costs, transportation, rental assistance, and other one-time critical emergency needs.
You can get help paying your utility bill. Most people think of these programs in the winter, when it’s so cold, but there are programs available to help pay your utility bill in the summer when you get whacked with the costs to run an air conditioner.
Community Action of Minneapolis has money available to help residents pay their utility bills through their Energy Services Program.
The Monroe County Housing Authority in Pennsylvania will be providing financial assistance to help households on the verge of homelessness remain in their homes pending financial improvement.
ComEd offers assistance programs to it’s customers. One of these is the “Residential Special Hardship Program”. This program provides a one-time grant of up to $1,000 for residential customers with household incomes at or below 400 percent of the poverty level ($84,800 for a family of four) that identify a hardship.
